One of my favorite parts of mommyhood is the unexpected silly moment that makes you lose your breath laughing. I had one of those moments yesterday morning. I was matching socks, and Rosie was grabbing them out of the pile. I put one on her head, and she laughed. There's nothing like a baby laugh. I thought it was funny. She thought it was funny that I thought it was funny. I thought it was funny that she thought it was funny that I thought it was funny. You get the drift. Special silly moments = mommyhood blessing.

Learning to sit up
So, now that Rosie's conquered solid foods, she's moving on to new tricks like sitting up! She appreciates a little support from her Boppy or her mom, dad or nanny, but she's getting better and better. And Nana D who is here for a conference noted that Rosie's starting to rock on her knees. She may be just a couple months away from crawling. How did my teeny tiny newborn baby grow into a sitting, scooting, smiling, rocker of a girl? I guess it's not just a cliche that time flies. Because it's a flyin'...

Rosie Encounters Solid(ish) Food for the First Time
I say solid(ish) because it was definitely more liquid than solid but there were at least 3-4 rice flakes in that soupy goodness. Rosie seemed intrigued by the whole experience. This took place on November 1. Only four days later, she's a champion at spoon eating. She opens her mouth like a baby bird and happily slurps it down. She giggles and tries to grab the spoon and food bowl. It becomes an Olympic sport to keep them away from her. New milestones are the best!

Testing out the video feature
We've got hours worth of video stored up on the computer. I'm hoping this can be a good venue for some some of her best work and, of course, some of the outtakes. Here's a short one from the Homestead Farms pumpkin patch a couple weeks ago...
Chicken Little was a good sport. It's like she realized how undignified the tights were, and she was willing to indulge us anyway.
I set up a JC Penney photo shoot on the front lawn. Women walking by with their babies asked if they could pose their kids there for photos!
Holidays are so much more fun when you have little kids to dress up in random seasonal gear. Can't wait for Christmas!
Inaugural Post
We're starting a family blog to show off Rosie for all her fans - far and wide. Let me know what you think!
